The Impact of Fatigue on Your Workplace

Despite 90 percent of employers feeling the impact of fatigue in their day-to-day operations, they often underestimate the financial burden. Sleep deficiency and sleep disorders cost a typical medium-sized employer a million dollars a year in lost productivity, missed days of work and health care costs. Identifying the causes of fatigue in the workplace and implementing best practices to manage fatigue is an effective way to reduce risk and decrease the financial burden.

During this session, Pion and Smith explored the importance of proper selection and preparation of the person testifying on behalf of the company. They reviewed the factors that can increase/decrease credibility and help set the proper strategy when facing a corporate designee notice.
Adapting & Integrating Technology for Today's Fleet
Sam Faucette • Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc.
In this presentation, Faucette discussed data extractions from commercial applications that are provided from a variety of sources, segregating and posting this data where it is useful and available to a single source when possible. He discussed whether notifications are effective or if these are better suited for dash-boarding for different operations. The objective is to determine which types of data are best suited for reactive discovery or pro-active driver behavior predictors.
