Avoiding the PR crash: How communication can work in an accident crisis

If one of your drivers was involved in a high profile crash today, would your fleet know how to respond and handle media inquiries? This session went through creating a crisis communication plan in anticipation of a major crash occurring and how to handle site crisis management and media relations. It also covered how to monitor media during and after the crash, including social media, reputation management and brand management. Finally, this session discussed dealing with the repercussions of fatalities and fallouts from claims of negligence and wrongdoing.

Distracted driving: Addressing potential criminal ramifications

The worst-case results of distracted truck driving are fatalities. They are increasingly leading to criminal homicide prosecutions in many parts of the country. This presentation discussed the necessity of early intervention on behalf of the driver to improve the chance of averting prosecution, as well as how to handle the effect of a prosecution on a parallel civil wrongful-death claim.
